Olga Van Oost works as a senior researcher at IBBT-SMIT at the Free University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). She has studied Art History & Archaeology and Communication Sciences at the Free University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel).

In April 2009 she defended her PhD entitled: 'The Museum Question: a Theoretical and Historical Analysis of the Art Museum Concept in the Modern Age and a Comparative Analysis of Museum Policies and Case-studies in Flanders and the Netherlands'. In a profound reflection on the museum of the future, she will publish an important part of her PhD in 2010. Currently, she is doing research on the museum concept in an internet of things.

Together with Kristof Michiels she is developing an online platform for new media artists called Edosia .

Olga's general research interests go to topics related to art history & society and e-culture. She has also studied the relationship between young people, museums and ICT.
